Here at Milk & Baby we are passionate about moms and babies and seeing them struggle during this refugee crisis breaks our hearts. We know our compassionate customers want to know how they can help too. This holiday season think of the refugees and offer your help. Here are three ways that you can directly support these families in dire need.

1. Donate Your Gently Used Baby Carrier

Image having to walk 150 miles to safety carrying your children and any belongings you could to ensure your survival. Think of what a difference a baby carrier would make. Easier on your back and freeing up your hands to carry your things and attend to the children walking beside you. 

Carry the Future is a newly formed organization out of California addressing this very issue. They are accepting donations of new and gently used carriers to fit refugee families as they walk to safety. If you have a baby carrier to donate send it to:

2. Buy a Wish List Item on Amazon.com

Approximately 150 Refugees a day arrive at the Refugee Camp in Calais France known as "The Jungle." The hope is to make their way across the channel to the UK. At night many break through the fence or try to stow away on a lorry making it's way to the UK. Families however cannot safely take children and infants across in the night this way. They must stay at the camp and hope to gain access to the UK through legal means. The process to obtain a Visa is lengthy whereas to arrive in the UK as an illegal is quicker and the law is compassionate to them when they arrive. This is the main reason migrants are targeting the UK versus France or Germany. 

Winter is beginning and those stuck in the Camp need essential items. You can help buy purchasing an item from their Amazon.com Wish List HERE. This is an Amazon UK site but don't worry, you can use your same Amazon account and just select US Dollars on your card at checkout and it will convert it for you. 3. Donate Locally to Incoming Refugees

If you prefer to help Refugee Families who are coming into the United States and plan to settle in your community there are many organizations accepted both monetary donations or donations of goods. The items needed most are new socks and underwear. To find an organization in your community that you can help click HERE and scroll down to your state.
