Whether your day is filled with picking up cheerios, working or binge-watching netflix while feeding your baby, women need to connect with other mom. So, let’s dig into how we can do that!
Make the Time
We’re all busy. So first things first, stop saying you’re busy. We all make time for what’s important to us. If you say you are too busy to hang out with a friend, then you are saying they are not important. You may not mean it, but that’s what they hear. If you truly want to have a mom tribe, you’ll have to make the time.
Search Them Out
Moms are out there, I promise. Look around at all the mom & play groups in your area. Then, attend ALL of them. That’s right! Attend all of them. You never know until you go what kind of vibe will be at each group. I attended a Gymboree Playgroup, two La Leche League groups, a local Adventure Club; just to name a few. Just go and go often. Eventually, you’ll get a feel for the one that fits you and your baby.
Be Involved
When you do attend these groups, engage. Stay off your phone, join in the conversation, and have fun! Be brave, invite a mom you connect with to hang out on another day!
Be Open
It’s human nature to look for moms exactly like you, but keep an open mind and an open heart. It’s great to hear different opinions and parenting styles. You never know what piece of advice might resonate with you and just might blow your mind!
