Krista // Interview with a Milk & Baby Model

At Milk & Baby, we like to use real breastfeeding and expecting moms for our photo shoots. We wanted you to get to know them. Here's a little bit about Krista!

She has two kiddos; Winston is 3 and Gretchen is 1. She currently lives in New Albany, Indiana.

Krista has been breastfeeding since Winston was born. So that would be pretty much every day since June 3, 2012. She nursed him through Gretchen's pregnancy. He continued to nurse at least once a day until she was around 6 months.

She loves the closeness that breastfeeding brings between her and her children. Also, Krista tries to do things in her life that are as close to natural as possible; breastfeeding just fits right in!

We asked her why she decided to apply to be a milk & baby model. She said, "Promoting breastfeeding through a local company was an amazing opportunity. It is great that Milk & Baby used real, local moms for this shoot!"

Krista's favorite part of the photo shoot was that she loved getting to try on all the different kinds of nursing wear. She said that it was great getting to try on a variety of pieces and meeting other like-minded mommas was great too!

We asked Krista about her hobbies and interests. She said that nowadays she thinks her children are her hobby. "Is that possible?", She joked. Krista decided that everything she does revolves around them in some way and she likes it that way. She also enjoys learning more about birth, health issues, baby wearing and breastfeeding topics.

She attends La Leche League of Southern Indiana meetings when she can. Krista enjoys talking with other moms about their fears, struggles, and accomplishments. It was a major help for her when she first started her breastfeeding journey. So she likes to think maybe she's helping others with her input. Krista is also getting ready to start a bible study at Sparrow's Tree in New Albany. She's very excited about the new fellowship with local moms at another local business.

Krista's tip for new moms is to surround yourself with strong support. She also love the quote "the days are long, but the years are short." It reminds her that no matter how long today is these moments are going to be gone before I realize.
