It's getting warmer out and whether your baby is teething or not, a cool treat may be the perfect comfort on a hot day. So, while you’re pumping and freezing breast milk why not freeze some In a Popsicle mold? Baby will enjoy the relief from the heat. Plus during that family cookout he can join the fun. Here are few tips for making breast milk Popsicles for baby.
Freeze Small Cubes
If you don't want to make a giant Popsicle and you want to keep the mess manageable then freeze small cubes for putting into a mesh feeder. Teething babies may like it better just when it starts to melt so I gives a little when they bite. Almost like having a breastmilk slushie.
Add Fruit
Put chunks of berries or bananas in the mold with the milk for an added treat.
Make it a Creamsicle
When I have a ripe avocado or two that needs eaten I'll purée it with some breastmilk and make what we call ‘baby guac’. He loves it. Sweet potatoes are also great for puréeing with breast milk for a creamy frozen treat.
