Meet the Newest Milk and Baby Blogger

Hi there, everyone. I'm Sarah Reinhart and I'm very pleased to be settling into this new gig as blogger here at Milk and Baby!

Have you seen this place? I'm a lucky girl. I mean, the maternity gear! The nursing gear! The baby gear! Even the dad gear! Gah, it makes me want alltheprettythings, you know? I'm hoping to review some of those store items down the road, and write about them of course. Sometimes I'll offer posts with tips and tricks in areas like improving your photography. More so though, I want to use this space to talk with you about the ins and outs of motherhood, parenthood, to commiserate and celebrate the little stuff we all live daily in our family lives. Sound alright? Alright.

So let's get to know each other a bit. I'll go first. I'm a lifelong Louisvillian with no plans to change that anytime soon. Six years ago I turned in the keys to my middle school classroom and picked up a camera instead. These days I'm a part-time professional photographer and blogger and a full-time mama of five. Yep, five. I've got three rad sons, and two groovy daughters ages eight all the way down to almost one.

With all those little ones it's a given that I spend a good portion of my time/energy/everything mothering. In between those moments, I'm known to have a few ongoing projects. Last year I co-founded the Motherhood Illuminated Photography Project, which is very dear to my heart. MIPP's all about supporting women, listening to women, connecting with women, and giving women a platform to story share. And personally, I have a daily self-portrait project in which I document myself in my own life. Why? Because I matter too, darn it. It isn't always easy or desirable to get in front of the camera, but what a transformative experience it is to watch your life unfold over the course of a year. The photos I've taken of myself just living my life are some of the ones I treasure most.

As you might imagine then I stand for things like body positivity, creativity, authenticity, awareness. I encourage openness and honesty in discussions and that's what you can expect from what you'll read in my posts.

Please come back and visit (don't forget to check out the new arrivals in the store!) and perhaps we'll learn from each other. You put your whole self in, you take your whole self out, you put your whole self in and you shake it all about.

COME ON. Do the hokey pokey. Turn yourself around. That's what it's all about.

Right? Who's down for that? I think it's okay to be silly here too. Find me elsewhere on Instagram and Twitter @shreinhart

Looking forward to connecting with you! Leave a comment and tell me something you hope to see posted on the Milk and Baby Blog.
